So You Want to Wear Waist Beads? Let's Get You Measured, Sis!

The only thing standing between you and your new favorite accessory is a measuring tape and two minutes of your time.

We've all been there. You find the most gorgeous set of waist beads, you're ready to add to cart, and then... the size question pops up and suddenly you're staring at the screen like it asked you to solve a math equation.

Don't worry. We've got you.

Measuring for waist beads is honestly one of the easiest things you'll do today — easier than finding matching socks, easier than parallel parking, and definitely easier than deciding what to eat for dinner. Let's walk through it together.

First Things First — Where Do YOU Want to Wear Them?

Before you even pick up a measuring tape, you need to decide where on your body you want your beads to sit. Unlike a regular belt or waistband, waist beads are completely customizable to your vibe. Here are your options:

High on the waist — sitting just above or at your natural waistline, usually the narrowest part of your torso. This placement is super flattering and gives major goddess energy.

At the navel — right around your belly button. A classic placement that looks stunning whether you're showing them off or keeping them tucked away as your little secret.

Low on the hips — sitting below the belly button on the hip bones. This is a beautiful, sensual placement that moves with your body in the most gorgeous way.

There's no right or wrong answer here — it's all about where you feel most beautiful. You can even layer multiple strands at different placements and honestly, we highly recommend it.

What You'll Need

A soft measuring tape (the kind used for sewing — not a metal one from the toolbox, sis!)

A mirror (optional but helpful)

Your most confident self

No measuring tape? No problem. Grab a piece of string, ribbon, or even a strip of paper, wrap it around your waist, mark where it meets, and then measure that against a ruler.

How to Measure — Step by Step

Step 1 — Get comfortable

Stand naturally. Don't suck in, don't push out — just breathe normally and stand the way you actually stand. Your waist beads should fit you, not a version of you that's holding their breath.

Step 2 — Find your placement

Using your fingers, locate the spot where you want your beads to sit. Remember — high waist, navel, or hips. Take a moment to feel where feels right for you.

Step 3 — Wrap the tape

Wrap your soft measuring tape around that spot, keeping it parallel to the floor all the way around. Make sure it's lying flat against your skin — not too tight, not too loose. You should be able to slip one finger underneath comfortably.

Step 4 — Read your measurement

Look at where the tape meets and note that number. That's your measurement! Write it down — you'll want to remember it.

Step 5 — Add a little breathing room

We recommend adding 1–2 inches to your measurement for comfort, especially if you plan to wear your beads all day. You want them sitting beautifully on your body, not digging in every time you sit down.

A Little Chart to Help You Out

Placement Where to Measure
High Waist Narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the belly button
Navel Directly around the belly button
Hips Around the fullest part of your hips / hip bones

Tips From Us to You

Tip 1 — Measure at the end of the day Our bodies naturally fluctuate throughout the day. Measuring in the evening gives you a more accurate idea of your true size so your beads feel comfortable all day long.

Tip 2 — Don't stress about the number Waist beads are for every body — every size, every shape, every curve. The number on the tape is just information, not a judgment. You are a whole goddess regardless of what it says.

Tip 3 — Layer up There are no rules that say you can only wear one strand. Many of our customers wear two, three, even four strands at different placements. Mix colors, mix styles, make it yours.

Tip 4 — Write your measurements down Keep them saved somewhere — in your phone notes, on a sticky note, anywhere. That way when you come back to shop (and you will come back) you already know your size.
